AI usage in financial services is already widespread. But while AI is being used to provide better customer support and security, it is also, as a side-effect, perpetuating negative biases. AI is capable of the same biases that its programmers possess. If you were found ineligible for a loan because you are a member of a particular community that the AI’s programmer failed to acknowledge in their algorithm, then you were the victim of bias in AI.
